In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Karoline Hartmann's turn. She starts with us as a data scientist - in this interview, she tells us what drove her to join, what her background is and how she likes to spend her life outside of work.
What position will you take on at [at]?
I started at [at] as a Data Scientist in Frankfurt.
How did you find out about [at]?
A former work colleague had made me aware of the job. I then looked at the website and LinkedIn page of [at]. These convinced me to apply.
Why did you choose [at]?
[at] offers a lot of exciting projects, but the deciding factors for me to join [at] were the values and the great atmosphere in all discussions.
What are you looking forward to the most?
On the one hand, I am looking forward to learning a lot of new things, being challenged and developing myself (also personally). But I am also looking forward to the people I will be working with.
What did you do before?
I completed my Master's degree in Mathematics at the Philipps University of Marburg last year. After that, I started working for a large IT service provider, but I quickly realised that I was looking for something else. I think I have found that now at [at].
Where were you born and raised?
I grew up in a very small village in Hesse.
What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?
I can't quite decide. Either Mexico or Greece. Both are beautiful countries with a great culture. I still have a lot of travel destinations, but I'm most looking forward to getting to know different Asian countries.
What was the last book you read?
I'm currently reading all the books from the Bridgerton universe. I can generally lose myself in a novel for hours.
What used to be your favourite subject at school?
Obviously maths ?
What do you always carry in your pocket?
I rarely leave the house without my Kindle.
