In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Julie McKenna's turn. Julie starts with us as Marketing Manager - in the interview she tells us what drove her to this, what her background is and how she likes to spend her life outside of work.
About your way to us
What position will you take on at AT?
Julie McKenna: I will be doing some marketing, but my main role will be the events.
How did you become aware of AT?
Julie McKenna: The first time I heard about AT was through my brother. He did a project for AT with his vocational school and said, "Hey Julie, if there's a job opening, apply immediately! What a cool place! Of course, that made my ears prick up. Funnily enough, it turned out that my friend knew Andi G. from BMW... and so one thing led to another. The contact was made, a job was available, I survived the application process and now I'm sitting here 😀
Why did you choose AT?
Julie McKenna: From the first time I had contact with AT, I was excited. The Atmosphere in the company is simply super, the people are all very nice, helpful and you notice that they really enjoy their work. The Corporate values are not just slapped on the website as a marketing purpose, but are lived day by day... that convinced me! 🙂
What are you looking forward to the most?
Julie McKenna: Here's to new professional challenges and to being part of the AT teams to master together.
What did you do before?
Julie McKenna: I worked in marketing at a BI company. Before that, I completed my Bachelor's degree (Information Management and Corporate Communications) at HNU (Neu-Ulm University of Applied Sciences).
About yourself
Where were you born and raised?
Julie McKenna: I was born in Munich and grew up in Fürstenfeldbruck.
What do you do in your spare time?
Julie McKenna: Spending time with friends and family, listening to music and travelling with the camper.
What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?
Julie McKenna: New Zealand absolutely blew me away! The landscape is incredibly diverse and the people are just super friendly and helpful. My list of countries is still very long, but in the near future I would love to travel through Scotland and Norway 🙂
What was your dream job as a child?
Julie McKenna: When I was a child, I wanted to be a marine biologist so I could spend all day with whales and dolphins. This dream was destroyed when I had biology as a subject at school 😀
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
Julie McKenna: A sunrise by the sea, or for a mountain tour 🙂
