#InsideAT - Our new Data Scientist Honza Bílek

In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Honza Bílek's turn. He is starting with us as a Data Scientist - in this interview he tells us what drove him to join, what his background is and how he likes to spend his life outside of work.

Which position are you taking on at AT?

I start at AT as a Data Scientist.

How did you hear about AT come to your attention? 

I had AT on my radar for a while. Now was the right time to move to Munich.

Why did you Why did you choose AT?

AT had a very good rating on kununu. Additionally, the website convinced me that the culture at the company would be a good fit for me.

What are you are you looking forward to the most?

I look forward to a variety of projects in which products or services are developed and optimised to the point of customer satisfaction. My heart beats especially for logistics and mobility. After a few days commuting to the office, I dare to give MVG a few tips. ????

What did you done before?

I worked as a Data Scientist in Hamburg at mytaxi and in the Otto Group.

Where were you born and raised?

I come from Prague. Through Erasmus, I came to Hamburg in 2014, where I have stayed until now. Now I'm looking forward to discovering Munich.

What do you do in your free time?

Play! I really like board games and two years ago I started playing ice hockey, which I always wanted to do. I also like to challenge someone in the computer game Age of Empires II from time to time. I would also like to brush up on my guitar skills again.

What was your dream job as a child?

I wanted to be a rubbish man. The one at the back of the ramp. ????

What is your favourite series?

There are many. Breaking Bad, Sherlock, Dexter, ...

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

As someone with a dry sense of humour, who constantly analyses many everyday things and tries to find the most efficient way.

What was the last book you read?

Algorithms to Live by by Brian Christian and Tom Griffiths.

What used to be your favourite subject at school?

Maths, sureo!

What would you get up for in the middle of the night?

When a problem keeps me awake. Alternatively, also for tortilla chips with chilli flavour.
