In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Svenja Dietz's turn. She starts with us as Partner & Staffing Manager - in the interview she tells us what drove her to join [at], what books she likes to read and where she definitely wants to travel soon. We are happy to have her on board.

Which position are you taking on at AT?

I have taken on the role of Partner & Staffing Manager since 04/01/20.

How did you hear about AT come to your attention?

I became aware of AT via a job site (Stepstone) and was immediately attracted by the company and job description!

Why did you Why did you choose AT?

I come from a traditional company. But now the time has come for a change. Therefore, I am now happy to work for a dynamic and future-oriented company.

What are you are you looking forward to the most?

I am most looking forward to the young, energetic team. You immediately felt the cohesion among the colleagues and that everyone is on fire for his/her job.

What did you done before?

I originally come from the hotel industry. In the last few years, I worked as a sales manager for Ringhotels, a hotel cooperation that unites about 100 individually managed hotels in Germany.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Wiesbaden and grew up in Mainz. I moved to Munich about 3 years ago. Here I like the big city feeling with village character, but I miss the carnival a bit.

What do you do in your spare time?

My favourite thing to do is travel or do sports. Munich is perfect for the occasional hike in the mountains.

What was your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to travel to?

Probably my most exciting and impressive trip was to Iceland. The interplay between icy cold and hot springs, black sand beaches and gigantic glaciers is spectacular.

I would definitely like to travel to Africa. I imagine a trip to South Africa or Tanzania to be extremely exciting. Discovering the impressive animal world on a safari is my dream.

What was your dream job as a child?

I had a few dream jobs as a child, but the two that stood out were probably opera singer (although I can't sing) and forester.

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

I am ready for anything.

What are your 3 most important work utensils?

Pocket diary, notebook and tea

What was the last book you read?

Most recently I read Thinking fast and slow (Daniel Kahnemann). It's about the two different ways of thinking: on the one hand, the often emotional intuition and on the other hand, the slow, logical thinking.

What could you definitely not do without in your travel suitcase?

I couldn't do without my Polaroid camera, which I use to capture very special moments.

What used to be your favourite subject at school?

I could never decide between mathematics and sport.

What would you get up for in the middle of the night?

For a dance session.
