In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Richard Bachmaier's turn. He starts with us as a trainee data engineer - in this interview he tells us what drove him to join, what his background is and how he likes to spend his life outside of work.
Which position are you taking on at AT?
I start with the Trainee Programme Data Engineering.
How did you hear about AT come to your attention?
I got to know Alexander Thamm GmbH at the IKOM career fair in Garching. I was also introduced to the trainee programme there.
Why did you Why did you choose AT?
During my Master's degree, I worked as a student trainee in the data management department of a research organisation, where I was able to share my enthusiasm for Data discovered. At AT I can work with data. Moreover, the company made a very sympathetic impression right from the start.
What are you are you looking forward to the most?
To learn new things and to many exciting projects.
What did you done before?
I studied electrical engineering and information technology at TUM and graduated with a Master's degree this year.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Wasserburg am Inn and grew up in Rechtmehring, a small village in Upper Bavaria.
What do you do in your free time?
I like sports in general and play football in the club.
What was your your dream job as a child?
I wanted to be a footballer or a researcher.
What is your favourite film?
My favourite film is 'The Shawshank Redemption'.
What used to be your favourite subject at school?
Sport. But I also liked mathematics and biology.
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
For an FC Bayern match. Fortunately, they rarely take place at night.
