In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Ruth Köhler's turn. She is starting with us as a Data Science trainee - in this interview she tells us what drove her to do it, what her background is and how she likes to spend her life outside of work.

Which position are you taking on at AT?
I started as a Data Science trainee at Alexander Thamm GmbH in the summer.
How did you hear about AT come to your attention?
At the beginning of my Master's degree, I read an article in which an employee of Alexander Thamm was interviewed on the topic of data science. Since then, I have been watching the company.
Why did you Why did you choose AT?
The trainee programme is the optimal opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and skills and to delve deeper into the topic of "Data Science". The combination of this professional development opportunity, the broad positioning of AT and the pleasant atmosphere convinced me.
What are you are you looking forward to the most?
What I look forward to most is a pleasant working atmosphere, exciting tasks and nice colleagues.
What did you done before?
I recently completed my Master's degree in Big Data and Business Intelligence in London, where my Master's thesis focused on optimising energy resources in buildings. Before that, I studied economics in Frankfurt with a focus on management and marketing.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and grew up in Frankfurt.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to explore new places and let my creativity run wild in the form of small craft projects or in the kitchen. But my favourite thing is to do something with friends or family.
What was your dream job as a child?
I really wanted to become an animal keeper.
Which book did you read last?

What could you definitely not do without in your travel suitcase?
Books/Kindle and mobile phone + headphones.
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
For my family, dogs and close friends.
