#InsideAT - Our new Principal Data Strategist Gerlinde Zimmermann

In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Gerlinde Zimmermann's turn. She starts with us as a Principal Data Strategist - in this interview she tells us what drove her to join us, what her background is and how she likes to spend her life outside of work.

What position will you take on at [at]?

I work for you as a Principal Data Strategist.

How did you find out about [at]?

In fact, via a job ad on LinkedIn.

Why did you choose [at]?

I immediately liked the open, young atmosphere during the interviews. In addition, the topic of data and what you can do with it has appealed to me since my studies and doctorate. Moreover, the process was so incredibly fast that I couldn't help myself.

What are you looking forward to the most?

Working on tricky topics with like-minded people.

What did you do before?

Before my two kids, I was a research assistant at university and then a strategy consultant in the DACH region for medium-sized companies. Then I worked for a service provider in the health care sector as head of the project office here in Leipzig.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and grew up in Dresden/Saxony.

What do you do in your spare time?

Besides my kids, the whole topic of "pleasure" appeals to me. I love cooking and eating and I love good wines.

What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?

Italy...and I would be interested in the Asian region - especially Japan.

What was your dream job as a child?

Dentist

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

I'm a friendly, service-oriented person, but sometimes you can tell I'm a Scorpio.

What are your three most important work utensils?

Coffee cup, mobile phone, physical notebook

What was the last book you read?

Strelecky: The big five for life

What could you definitely not do without in your travel suitcase?

Belts - I hate slipping trousers.

What used to be your favourite subject at school?

Art education and music

What would you get up for in the middle of the night?

My kids - for nothing else!
