In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Marius Gnoth's turn. He is starting with us as a working student in Sales & Business Development - in this interview he tells us what drove him to join, what his background is and how he likes to spend his life outside of work.

How did you find out about [at]?
I was looking for a company that would give me a deep insight into the acquisition activities related to Data Analytics/AI products.
Why did you choose [at]?
[at] offers the right combination of business and IT background with real-world expertise and in-house programming and development. I also have a keen interest in data analytics topics, in which I would like to gain more practical experience, which in turn I want to integrate into my aspired Master in Data Analytics.
What are you looking forward to the most?
The close cooperation in the sales team, especially at the quotation stage, which is hopefully rewarded with success.
What did you do before?
I am currently an enrolled student at Goethe University and have already gained experience in the solar industry and in risk advisory for industrial and energy companies. I also worked as a bartender for a long time and learned a lot about spirits, biodynamic wines and music production (mixing).
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Neu-Ulm and grew up in a small suburb in Kaiserslautern.
What do you do in your spare time?
I have a broad portfolio: From all kinds of ball sports (football, volleyball, spikeball etc.) to bouldering. My holiday destinations are mainly chosen based on the wave forecast. On weekends, I like to go out with friends or organise parties in our shared flat.
What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?
I particularly enjoyed my time in New Zealand and Australia. On my bucket list are definitely Brazil, Patagonia and Sri Lanka, among many others.
What was your dream job as a child?
Probably all the stereotypes: Footballer, astronaut, gamer, businessman (with fancy suits).

Favourite film: Interstellar, Shutter Island (My insider tip from Disney: Soul)

What are your three most important work utensils?
Second screen, Notes, Club Mate
What was the last book you read?
The Secret Life of Trees (Peter Wohlleben)
What used to be your favourite subject at school?
Geography (similar to PoWi)
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
Especially in these times for a spontaneous road trip with surfboards on the roof towards the Atlantic from northern France down to the Algarve.
What do you always carry in your pocket?
Meanwhile, the mask is the most common.
