In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Mira Jaber's turn. She starts with us as a Senior Data Engineer - in the interview she tells us what drove her to this position, what her background is and how she likes to spend her life outside of work.
What position will you take on at AT?
I am taking over the Senior Data Engineer position.
How did you become aware of AT?
A recruiter contacted me via LinkedIn.
Why did you choose AT?
AT has a clear goal, really interesting use cases, and continuous contribution to the data and AI community.
What are you looking forward to the most?
I look forward to developing and implementing data and cloud use cases.
What did you do before?
I studied electrical engineering, but then switched to data engineering.
Where were you born and raised?
I was born in Jeddah and grew up in Lebanon.
What do you do in your spare time?
My hobbies are reading, dancing and travelling.
What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?
My favourite destination so far was Croatia and I would definitely like to travel to Argentina
What was your dream job as a child?
As a child my dream was to become a dancer
What is your favourite film / series?
My favourite series is Friends. My favourite film is Harry Potter
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
Maybe it's become a cliché, but I think the phrase Work Hard Play Hard describes me quite well.
What are your three most important work utensils?
My three work utensils are: Noise cancelling headphones, laptop, notebook.
What was the last book you read?
The last thing I read was "Talking to my daughter about the economy by Yanis Varoufakis".
What could you definitely not do without in your travel suitcase?
I will never travel without a swimming costume.
What used to be your favourite subject at school?
My favourite subject at school was history.
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
I would get up for a beautiful view of the moon
What do you always carry in your pocket?
I always carry my cards, a lip balm and my sunglasses in my bag
