In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Fridtjof Zimmermann's turn. He starts with us as a Senior Data Scientist - in the interview he tells us what drove him to it, what his background is and how he likes to spend his life outside of work.

I start as a Senior Data Scientist.

Through the vacancy notice
Why did you choose [at]?
My interview was very pleasant. We talked about interesting methodologies in the field of anomaly detection and I had the feeling that my ideas of cooperation are lived at [at] and that I can still learn a lot at [at]. The future challenges that were described made me curious and aroused my interest.
What are you looking forward to the most?
To the cooperation with team colleagues and the resulting exchange.
What did you do before?
I worked as a Data Scientist for EY in Financial Accounting Advisory
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and grew up near Cologne. Kölle Alaaf!
What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?
My favourite travel destination so far has been South Korea. The country is simply beautiful, the food is very tasty and the people are super friendly.
Where I still want to go is Bhutan. I love mountains and nature. Due to the strict entry restrictions, it is still very untouched.
What was your dream job as a child?
When I was a child, I wanted to be an inventor and invent a Lego sorting machine so that I wouldn't always have to look for my Lego bricks.
What used to be your favourite subject at school?
History has always fascinated me. Especially the ancient world is an interesting time period. The evolution of technical and social progress is something I always enjoy reading about.
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
To eat something delicious like lasagne and discuss with friends.
