In our #InsideAT series we regularly present introduces new employees. Today it's Sarah-Amina Smoot's turn. She starts with us as a new Senior Executive Assistant - in the interview she tells us what drove her to it, what her background is and how she likes to spend her life outside of work.

What position will you take on at [at]?

I am Nicholas' new assistant. I will be his right hand and hopefully be able to take over and support him in many tasks.

How did you find out about [at]?

I saw [at] on Indeed. Afterwards I stalked the company on Linkedin. I was very excited about the projects and of course the people. The whole picture had a very positive vibe.

Why did you choose [at]?

The company has a lot to offer, from benefits to experience. I think the values are also exactly what I implement in my private life.

What are you looking forward to the most?

I am looking forward to the new colleagues and the new experiences.

What did you do before?

I was previously with an IT service provider. The company COMECO developed the TEO (Online Banking App) for the Sparda Bank. I was the right hand of the managing director.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Bad Canstatt, Stuttgart, but grew up in Washington DC, USA. I lived in the USA until I was 18 and then emigrated to Germany on my own when I was 18.

What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?

I can only mention my home country. I loved being in California and Texas. There are so many beautiful places in the States. But I would still like to go to Thailand and the Maldives.

What was your dream job as a child?

I wanted to become a ballerina. But that dream was soon over, because somehow I completely lost my balance in my old age. Funnily enough, now that I'm 30, I can't even dance properly. That was not meant to be.

What is your favourite film / series?

The best series is House of Money and Breaking Bad.

My favourite film is 'the only day' (in English: The Notebook)

How would you describe yourself in one sentence?

I would say I am very fun-loving, positive and empathetic.
