#InsideAT - Our new Trainee Data Science Anna Korotkova

from | 14 April 2021 | #InsideAT

In our #InsideAT series, we regularly introduce new employees. Today it's Anna Korotkova's turn. She is starting with us as a Data Science trainee - in this interview she tells us what drove her to join us, what her background is and how she likes to spend her life outside of work.

What position will you take on at AT?

I start as a Data Science trainee at AT.

How did you become aware of AT?

Through the Data Festival and through fellow students.

Why did you choose AT?

The trainee programme really appealed to me because it gave me the opportunity to get to know different data science areas and to work directly on projects. In addition, the AT employees made a very likeable impression right from the start and the corporate culture itself also appealed to me.

What are you looking forward to the most?

What I'm most looking forward to is learning a lot in the areas of data science and AI and applying what I've learned to exciting projects.

What did you do before?

I completed my Master's degree in statistics with a focus on economics and social sciences at the LMU and at the same time worked as a student trainee at Check24 Vergleichsportal Finanzen.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and raised in Munich.

What do you do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to do body combat, attend poetry slams, meet my family and friends and bake the odd cake.

What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?

My favourite travel destination so far was Greece. I did a semester abroad there and was able to explore the many beautiful islands and the mainland. I was particularly impressed by the white beaches and turquoise waters on Lefkada and the so-called floating monasteries of Meteora.
There are still a lot of countries on my bucket list, but the next destination would be a surf camp in Portugal.

What was your dream job as a child?

When I was a child, I wanted to be a doctor.

What was the last book you read?

The last thing I read was QualityLand, a satirical dystopia by Marc-Uwe Kling, and I'm currently reading Elon Musk's biography.
