In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Ralf Dlugi's turn. He is starting with us as a data engineering trainee - in this interview he tells us what drove him to join, what his background is and how he likes to spend his life outside of work.

What position will you take on at [at]?

At AT, I start with a one-year trainee programme as a data engineer.

How did you find out about [at]?

While browsing LinkedIn, I saw a job posting from AT for the trainee programme. I applied for it.

Why did you choose [at]?

Already in the first conversation with HR, I particularly liked the corporate culture and the Musketeer Principle. I also believe that I will learn a lot of new things during my year as a trainee.

What are you looking forward to the most?

I am most looking forward to working on the project and learning new skills.

What did you do before?

Before AT, I worked at Daimler Trucks as a bachelor student and wrote my thesis in the field of Natural Language Processing.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born and grew up in Villingen-Schwenningen.

What was your dream job as a child?

My dream job as a child was to become a Formula 1 driver.

What is your favourite film / series?

My favourite films include the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Inception and Interstellar. My favourite series is Game of Thrones.

What are your three most important work utensils?

My three most important work utensils are: Laptop, headphones and coffee.

What used to be your favourite subject at school?

My favourite subject at school was maths.
