connected pinball
The networked pinball machine shows how digitality can work.
Networking of an analogue pinball machine
Analysis of the course of the game
Visualisation of the game data in real time
Challenge
At Internet of Things The aim is to network this pinball machine, collect data and develop predictive models for it.
Solution
By means of two Raspberry Pis, various elements of the pinball machine can be networked to obtain data on the triggering of the pinball arms and bouncers in real time. A camera also collects unstructured image data regarding the current game status. With Machine Learning Algorithms and customised D3 visualisations match progress is analysed and visualised.
Result
The game on the pinball machine is visualised in real time on two monitors. One Pattern recognition identifies the current score based on the recorded image data.
