Condition Monitoring

Condition Monitoring refers to the continuous monitoring of the equipment’s state, usually through sensors. Its goal is to identify changes that indicate potential damage, so repairs can be performed before a failure gets the chance to occur.

The primary idea is to take action when components of a machine show certain behaviors that usually result in a downtrend in product quality, machine degradation, or failure. It indicates the need for maintenance steps before the actual damage occurs or product quality drastically changes. The foundation of this approach is the collection of a huge amount of machine data and the anomaly detection methods.
