Collaboration strengthens sovereign, responsible AI in public administration – award-winning AI platform accelerates planning and approval processes for infrastructure projects 

Munich, 13 February 2026. Alexander Thamm [at] has played a key role in developing an Agentic AI solution for the German Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and State Modernization (BMDS). The solution received an award in February at the World Governments Summit in the category “Best Use of AI in Government Services.”

The Agentic AI system, developed by [at] in close collaboration with and under the leadership of PwC, accelerates planning and permitting procedures for infrastructure projects and makes administrative processes considerably more efficient. 

The platform analyzes application documents, structures their content, checks whether required documentation is complete, and generates well-founded recommendations to support case officers in their decisions. Final decisions and legal responsibility remain firmly in human hands, following a human-in-the-loop approach. 

The technology will also be released as open-source code by the BMDS starting in April.
