Our mission
We help people and organisations to use data and artificial intelligence responsibly and for the benefit of people. The focus is always on generating real added value from data. In this way, we create an economically strong Europe with digital products and services that scale globally and are based on European values.
Our vision
Technologies such as artificial intelligence will help humanity tackle its biggest challenges, such as climate change, epidemics and a fair global economy. In doing so, we believe in European values such as privacy and human-centred AI.

This is us
We have d[at]a in our DNA and burn to develop real innovation and added value. Since our founding in 2012, we have grown to over 300 employees and have become a leading provider of artificial intelligence, Data Science and Big Data in the German-speaking region. Together with our clients, we generate real added value from data. To this end, we develop and implement data-driven innovations and new business models.
We empower our customers to develop their own strengths and accompany them on their journey with our [at] Data Journey - from data strategy to the development of algorithms and the construction of IT architectures to maintenance and operation.

Our history
2012
Founded in Munich - as it had to be done quickly and there was no time for a name check, our founder Alexander Thamm named the company after himself.
2016
For our predictive maintenance project with MAN, we received 3 awards at the Best of Consulting Award from WirtschaftsWoche.
2017
[at] moves to its current office - the [at] Data Hub, with a fantastic view over Munich, and opens its first branch in Berlin.
2022
By founding Alexander Thamm Austria GmbH, we are continuing to invest in the European idea of a strong data and AI centre.
2023
After more than 2,000 successful customer projects, Alexander Thamm [at] continues its success story and now employs around 300 people at more than 10 locations.
2024
Further expansion of our activities in the field of AI-supported software development and foundation of Alexander Thamm Schweiz AG.
Our locations
Our DataHub and the heart of [at] is located in Munich directly at the Olympiapark and impresses with a grandiose roof terrace and probably the most beautiful view over Munich. In addition to the training courses for our Data Academy We also regularly hold events such as our Data & AI Summer Conference.
We opened our second location in Berlin in 2017. Since then, we have already moved several times and are currently in the Government district to find. Our Frankfurt office is located near Rothschildpark. Since our takeover of aiso-lab, we also have an office in Cologne - in the heart of the city, right next to Heumarkt. Our Stuttgart office is conveniently located in Leinenfeld-Echterdingen. Our founder Alexander Thamm has a very special connection to our office in Leipzig - after all, his family comes from there and he spent the first years of his life in Leipzig.

Creating added value from data & AI together
DATA festival
Together with BARC, we launched the DATA festival in 2018. Once a year, everything revolves around data for three days in Munich. High-profile experts share their knowledge on the application and implementation of Data Science and AI in the form of use cases, workshops, tech deep dives, panels and networking sessions in a relaxed festival atmosphere. The event is the perfect platform to connect data experts and users.
German Data Science Society
As a supporting member, we support the German Data Science Society in the areas of further education, initiating and holding events, as well as in the implementation of legal frameworks and the establishment of a communication and networking organisation. GDS e.V. was founded in December 2018 and is aimed at data science users. It also conducts various university and college activities.
KI Bundesverband
The KI Bundesverband is Germany's largest AI network of politicians, entrepreneurs, SMEs, start-ups and corporations. The association now has 250 members. The entire association is in constant exchange with political decision-makers and puts the topic of AI on the political agenda. They also facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience between companies and advance the latest AI technologies. As a founding member, Alexander Thamm GmbH is very active in the KI Bundesverband. Our CEO Alexander Thamm acts as Regional Director and our Chief Product Officer Jörg Bienert is Chairman of the KI Bundesverband.
Rise of AI
Since 2015, the annual Rise of AI Conference AI experts, decision makers, opinion leaders and thought leaders together to discuss AI for society, politics and business. Their mission is to build a thriving European ecosystem on the topic of data and AI.

UN Global Compact
MCML - Munich Center for Machine Learning
The MCML - Munich Center for Machine Learning is a joint research initiative of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and Technische Universität München (TUM). It is one of six nationwide AI centres in Germany to receive permanent funding as part of the AI strategy of the German and Bavarian governments. Their vision is to strengthen regional, national and international AI competence and to make the corresponding potential accessible to users from science and industry. We at Alexander Thamm GmbH are pleased to support the initiative as an Industry Partner. The official contact person is our Co-CEO Andreas Gillhuber.
