Dr. Gerlinde Zimmermann is a Senior Principal for Data & AI at Alexander Thamm [at]. In this role, she advises companies across a wide range of industries, including healthcare, chemicals, transport, and consumer goods, on the use of AI and automation. Her focus areas include AI strategy, data governance, data culture, AI business value, as well as Agentic AI and Generative AI.

Previously, she worked as a strategy consultant and later as an advisor to executive management in a mid-sized company, where she was deeply involved in the development and implementation of corporate strategy. Many of these initiatives centered on digital transformation and AI. Beyond defining projects, she also took an active role in their execution. 

This experience shaped belief that data and AI can only create real value when they are tightly aligned with business strategy, deliver clear business impact, and are embraced by the people in the organization. Hence, Gerlinde positions herself as a bridge between management, IT, and business units, and as a strong advocate of data and AI as drivers of strategic advantage.
