Data is the key to innovation, efficiency, and safety; and therefore to long-term competitiveness in one of the most heavily regulated and dynamic industries: the chemical and pharmaceutical sector.
AI is increasingly becoming the new operating model for chemical and pharmaceutical companies in Germany and across Europe — from autonomous batch plants, sensor-based batch quality assurance and predictive maintenance at integrated production sites, to the automated creation of safety data sheets, and even “chatting” with your own lab using GenAI.
As one of Europe’s leading data and AI consultancies, we help chemical and pharmaceutical companies translate these opportunities into measurable value: agrochemicals, additives, coatings, polymers, silicones, pharmaceuticals, adhesives, and instruments — our experts have delivered projects across many areas and bring deep industry expertise.
We have already implemented over 60 projects in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries in Europe, ranging from R&D to sales, strategy to implementation.
By leveraging AI in pharmaceutical R&D and accurately predicting candidate molecules, development cycles can be significantly shortened – while reducing costs.
Data analytics and machine learning enable more targeted patient recruitment, the identification of relevant patterns, and real-time trial adaptation – improving clinical trial outcomes.
End-to-end data pipelines and automated analysis accelerate productivity across R&D – from hypothesis generation to market readiness – driving long-term R&D efficiency.
Integrated data platforms, digital twins, and AI-powered process automation reduce lead times in laboratories, production, and quality control – resulting in a significantly faster time-to-market.
Auditable and explainable AI systems help meet regulatory requirements and increase traceability and transparency throughout the entire process chain – from diagnostics to production.
Through smart process optimization, energy savings, and predictive maintenance, production environments become more sustainable and resilient – benefiting people, the environment, and your business.

Read moreOur interdisciplinary teams of AI and industry experts have already successfully completed over 60 projects in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
In chemicals and pharma, the next performance leaps come from combining domain expertise with GenAI and agentic systems: intelligent assistants that support teams, for example, in regulatory intelligence, maintenance planning, technical documentation, safety data sheet creation, deviation analyses, quality investigations, and knowledge management — always with the right governance, validation strategy, and traceability.
In production, AI enables the next level of maturity: sensor-based batch quality assurance, predictive maintenance, energy and yield optimization — and, in suitable scenarios, even autonomous batch production. This strengthens your competitiveness despite skills shortages and cost pressure.
We support you end-to-end: from strategy and development to integration and stable operations. No one-size-fits-all solutions, only what your specific use case truly needs.
Our promise: measurable business value — and a clear ROI for every technology deployed.

Our Digital Journey offers a holistic framework for data and AI projects, allowing us to fully understand our clients' challenges and provide tailored, effective solutions.
It encompasses four intertwined practices: Data Strategy, Data Lab, Data Factory, and DataOps. This holistic approach to planning and implementing Data and AI projects allows us to maintain a continuous overview of cutting-edge technologies and trends. Additionally, this setup provides our customers access to a qualified team of experts who can address and assist with various issues at every stage of the journey. Note that although our Digital Journey is a holistic concept, its individual components and services can also be accessed independently. Nevertheless, all areas are integrated into every project. This is how we turn data into real value.
We support your data project – from the initial idea to the final product.
Question: I see that AI has a lot of potential in the chemicals and pharmaceutical industries, but I haven’t used it so far because I don’t know what requirements different systems must meet to comply with current and future regulations. How can [at] help?
Answer: In our solutions, compliance is embedded in the technology. This means we take existing regulations into account already during the design and development of every AI system and weigh requirements carefully. Compliance is therefore not treated as a purely theoretical consideration — it is built into the technical architecture and implementation. This ensures our solutions are legally compliant and can be deployed even in highly regulated environments.
Q: I would like to use AI, but I have concerns about data protection. I don’t want my (lab) data to end up with third parties. How can I use AI securely?
A: Whether it’s personal (customer) data or laboratory data — we incorporate data protection across every area. First, data protection is a compliance topic, which we address by considering the relevant regulations. Second, especially in chemicals and pharma, data protection can secure a competitive advantage by ensuring internal (lab) data does not leave the organization. To prevent this, for example, we build on-premises solutions instead of using commercial cloud offerings.
Q: We need an AI partner who understands our industry. What experience does [at] have in this area?
A: We have delivered more than 60 projects in chemicals and pharma across Europe — from R&D to sales, and from strategy to implementation. We have successfully worked with many DAX corporations, mid-sized companies, and niche providers. Our teams have delivered successful data and AI projects across many areas of the chemical industry, including additives, silicones, agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, coatings, membranes, adhesives, and laboratory instruments. Our experts are regularly featured in leading national and international industry media and are active in industry associations, including the VCI.
