In our #InsideAT series we regularly present new employees. Today it's Tomislav Bodrozic's turn. Tomi starts with us as Trainee Data Engineering - in the interview he tells us what drove him to it, what his background is and how he prefers to spend his life besides work.
About your way to us
What position will you take on at AT?
Tomislav Bodrozic: I start here as a Data Engineering Trainee.
How did you become aware of AT?
Tomislav Bodrozic: Through a previous internship, but I was already very familiar with AT before that.
Why did you choose AT?
Tomislav Bodrozic: Quite simply: a young, dynamic and fast-growing company at the forefront of a cutting-edge topic.
What are you looking forward to the most?
Tomislav Bodrozic: Here's to new challenges in exciting projects and a great collaboration with the new Colleagues 🙂
Tomislav Bodrozic: What did you do before?
I studied industrial engineering at the KIT in Karlsruhe for my Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
About yourself
Where were you born and raised?
Tomislav Bodrozic: I was born and grew up in Pforzheim. I also did my Abitur there.
What do you do in your spare time?
Tomislav Bodrozic: In my free time, I am very involved in chess - in the past, more as a player. After I became International Champion, I put more emphasis on team captaincy, although I am still part of the team. At the moment I play for the Bundesliga team from Hockenheim.
What has been your favourite travel destination so far and where would you definitely like to go?
Tomislav Bodrozic: My favourite destination so far was Split (Croatia), because there are many friends and relatives there and it is simply a beautiful area. Otherwise, I would like to go to Reykjavik in Iceland.
What was your dream job as a child?
Tomislav Bodrozic: As a child, I was fascinated by dinosaurs and wanted to become an archaeologist.
What is your favourite film / series?
Tomislav Bodrozic: My favourite film is "Inception" by Christopher Nolan. My favourite series is "True Detective" (season 1).
What used to be your favourite subject at school?
Tomislav Bodrozic: A difficult question. Between maths, physics and business administration/commerce, I would choose the latter by the standards of the time.
What would you get up for in the middle of the night?
Tomislav Bodrozic: For family and good friends.
